Rivarospire 10 mg is a lower-dose anticoagulant (blood thinner) containing Rivaroxaban. While the 15mg and 20mg doses are often used for active treatment, the 10 mg dose is typically used for:
Post-Surgery Prevention: Specifically used to prevent venous thromboembolism (VTE) in adults following elective hip or knee replacement surgery.
Long-term Prevention: Used to prevent the recurrence of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Pulmonary Embolism (PE) after initial 6-month treatment.
Lower Risk Prophylaxis: Targeted at patients requiring a lower strength to maintain blood flow and prevent clot formation.
Active Ingredient: Rivaroxaban (10 mg).
Drug Class: Factor Xa Inhibitor.
Quantity: 20 Tablets (2 blisters of 10 tablets).
The 10 mg dose has different administration rules than the higher strengths:
With or Without Food: Unlike the 15 mg and 20 mg doses, the 10 mg tablet can be taken with or without food.
Standard Timing: For post-surgery prevention, the first dose is usually taken 6 to 10 hours after surgery, once the wound is stable.
Frequency: Usually taken once daily at the same time each day.
Missed Dose: Take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your regular schedule.
Bleeding Awareness: Even at 10 mg, there is an increased risk of bleeding. Be cautious with sharp objects and avoid contact sports.
Drug Interactions: Avoid taking with NSAIDs like Aspirin, Ibuprofen, or Naproxen unless specifically directed by your cardiologist, as this raises bleeding risks significantly.
Storage: Store at room temperature (below 30°C) in a dry place.
