Active ingredient montelukast sodium. It is a leukotriene receptor antagonist used primarily for the prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma and for the relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis .

- Usage: It is not a rescue medication and should not be used for sudden, acute asthma attacks; a short-acting inhaler should be used for that purpose.
- Asthma: Prophylaxis and chronic treatment in pediatric patients 2 to 5 years of age.
- Allergic Rhinitis:
- Seasonal allergic rhinitis in patients 2 years of age and older.
- Perennial allergic rhinitis in patients 6 months of age and older.
- Agitation, aggressive behavior, or irritability
- Anxiety, depression, or confusion
- Difficulty paying attention or memory problems
- Hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that are not there)
- Suicidal thoughts or actions
- Dosage: The typical dose for pediatric patients 2 to 5 years of age is one 4 mg chewable tablet once daily in the evening for asthma or for asthma and allergic rhinitis concurrently.
- Administration: The tablet should be chewed thoroughly before swallowing. It can be taken with or without food.
- Missed Dose: If a dose is missed, skip it and continue the regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one, and do not take more than one dose in 24 hours
