- Perennial allergic rhinitis in patients 6 months of age and older.
This medication has a boxed warning regarding serious mental health side effects, including:
- Agitation, aggressive behavior, or irritability
- Anxiety, depression, or confusion
- Difficulty paying attention or memory problems
- Hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that are not there)
- Suicidal thoughts or actions
Patients, family members, and caregivers should be aware of these potential side effects and contact a doctor immediately if any behavioral or mood-related changes occur.
Directions for Use
- Dosage: The typical dose for pediatric patients 2 to 5 years of age is one 4 mg chewable tablet once daily in the evening for asthma or for asthma and allergic rhinitis concurrently.
- Administration: The tablet should be chewed thoroughly before swallowing. It can be taken with or without food.
- Missed Dose: If a dose is missed, skip it and continue the regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one, and do not take more than one dose in 24 hours
