- Budesonide: This is an inhaled corticosteroid with a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect. It reduces swelling of the respiratory tract lining and suppresses the inflammatory process in the lungs.
- Formoterol Fumarate Dihydrate: This is a long-acting beta₂-agonist (LABA). It works by relaxing the smooth muscles around the airways, which opens the bronchial tubes, improves air flow, and eases breathing.
- Combined Effect: The combination provides both symptom relief and long-term control of airway inflammation, helping to prevent exacerbations of bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
- Bronchial Asthma: Used as a maintenance therapy to control symptoms and prevent attacks.
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): This includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema. It is used as a long-term treatment to improve breathing and reduce the number of flare-ups.
- Not for Acute Relief: This medication is a controller or maintenance inhaler and should not be used to treat sudden, intense flare-ups or an asthma attack that has already started. A separate rescue inhaler should be used for that purpose.
- Usage: The capsules are for inhalation only using the provided inhaler device.
- Prescription Only: FORBUDES 400/12 mcg is available only with a doctor’s prescription.
- Rinse Mouth: After each use, rinse your mouth out with water to help prevent side effects like oral thrush. Do not swallow the rinse water.
