Netlook 40 mg is a powerful systemic retinoid used for the treatment of severe, recalcitrant acne that has not responded to other therapies. Manufactured by Al Andalous Pharmaceutical, it is the leading Egyptian-produced equivalent to international brands like Roaccutane.
Each soft gelatin capsule contains:
- Isotretinoin (40 mg): A derivative of Vitamin A that reduces sebaceous gland size and oil production.
- Auxiliary components: Includes yellow beeswax and soybean oil in a gelatin-glycerol shell.
- Indications: Severe forms of acne (nodular-cystic, conglobate) or acne at high risk of permanent scarring.
- Administration: Must be taken with food to double its bioavailability.
- Dosage: Strictly as prescribed by a specialist. Usually initiated based on body weight.
Strict Caution: Isotretinoin must NOT be used during pregnancy as it causes severe birth defects.
- Sun Sensitivity: Users in Hurghada must use high SPF sunscreen, as Netlook significantly increases skin sensitivity to the sun.
- Side Effects: Common effects include dryness of the lips, eyes, and skin. Regular monitoring of liver function and lipids is required.
