Keppra is a prescription medication used to treat seizures. Its active ingredient, levetiracetam, is an antiepileptic drug (AED). While its exact mechanism of action is not fully understood, it is believed to work by binding to a specific protein in the brain (SV2A) which may help reduce abnormal electrical activity that leads to seizures.
