Borgasone 0.1% is a potent topical corticosteroid containing Mometasone Furoate. It is used to reduce inflammation and itching associated with various skin conditions, including:
Psoriasis: Relieves thick, scaly patches of skin.
Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema): Calms redness, swelling, and irritation.
Allergic Dermatitis: Treats skin reactions caused by allergens or irritants.
Seborrheic Dermatitis: Manages inflammatory skin conditions affecting the scalp or face.
Mometasone Furoate (0.1% w/w): A medium-to-high potency synthetic corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic (anti-itch), and vasoconstrictive properties.
Ointment Base: The ointment form provides an occlusive layer that helps retain moisture, making it ideal for dry, scaly, or thick skin patches.
Cleanliness: Wash and dry the affected area before application.
Thin Layer: Apply a very thin film of ointment only to the affected skin area once daily.
Absorption: Gently rub the medication in until it disappears.
Avoid Bandages: Do not cover, wrap, or bandage the treated area unless specifically instructed by your doctor, as this increases systemic absorption and the risk of side effects.
Face & Body Folds: Avoid using on the face, underarms, or groin area for extended periods, as the skin is thinner and more prone to side effects like thinning (atrophy).
Duration: Do not use for more than 2 consecutive weeks without consulting your dermatologist.
Eye Safety: Keep away from the eyes; accidental contact can lead to glaucoma or cataracts.
Children: Use with extreme caution in children; they absorb larger amounts of topical steroids through the skin.
