Appearance: Small, white, circular, flat tablet with a bisecting score line for divided doses.
Clinical Uses
- Parkinson’s Disease: Add-on therapy for all forms (idiopathic, postencephalitic, arteriosclerotic) to reduce rigidity, tremors, and slowness of movement.
- Drug-Induced Movement Disorders: Treats extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) from neuroleptics/antipsychotics, such as akathisia and acute muscle spasms.
- Night Cramps: Sometimes prescribed for severe nocturnal leg cramps.
